So ok people, I’ve been trying to be good and pack my lunch every day for work. In these difficult times I am super lucky to have a job at all in a state with one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. In an attempt to save what little money I have, I make myself a relatively awesome (if I do say so myself) sandwich. However, I got a call from some friends that wanted to meet up for lunch. Sigh. My sandwich is still sulking in the fridge in the back office. I didn’t mean for you to feel neglected, dear sammy, but my friends wanted Jim N’ Nick’s for lunch. The allure of rotisserie turkey breast and creamed spinach was too great for me today. Oh, that’s what I got there. I forgot my camera at home once again and my Blackberry doesn’t take good enough pictures to merit me putting them on my blog. .005 pixels kinda pales in comparison to my 12 MP camera. So I apologize about having like zero pictures on display any more.
Anyway, the food was pretty bangin. The turkey was moist and juicy with not a ton of their barbecue sauce on top. And the pickles (I totally did or didn’t mean to create a double entendre for you Dane Cook fans out there). Pickles and bbq sauce kind of make my day. The combo was completely unbeknownst to me until I moved to the great Chuck and I can’t get enough of it. It’s one of those magical combinations like chocolate and peanut butter or, more appropriately, Moscato d’Asti and crème brûlée. But me comparing those two is kind of putting lipstick on the pig if you’ll pardon that supremely large pun. I digress. Jim N’ Nick’s is still undeniably one of the best lunch spots in town.
